Trakia Tech transformed the public transport information in Plovdiv into machine-readable open data that Google has already integrated into its maps.
Starting July 1, 2019, citizens and visitors of Plovdiv can quickly and conveniently check through Google Maps how to move between two points in the city using public transport buses.
To make this happen, route data, bus stops, and timetables of bus lines from the urban transport scheme were converted to a machine-processable type according to the GTFS (General Transit Feed Specification).
These data continue to be public information, and Trakia Tech will publish them in machine-readable open data format. GTFS feed: https://trakia.tech/gtfs/plovdiv.zip
Keeping in mind that it is not yet a real-time data feed, users are urged to report gaps and mistakes in positioning stops, routes, or other inaccuracies via an electronic form.
TrakiaTech as an authorized technology partner of Plovdiv Municipality for Google Transit hopes it will soon be possible to upgrade the bus traffic service with real-time data.
